I'm not a fan of Pat Roberts and I question all the political stuff that we Christians get involved in or are encouraged to get involved in, no matter which side of the spectrum, you stand.

But, in that context, I was struck recently by a verse as I was studying how we in the church are supposed to treat each other. The verse is James 4:11:

"Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it."

There's a lot of diversity in the Christian community and we need to respect that, even if we might have some issues with it. As we were discussing this in a small group, someone pointed out that James points out that when we speak against each other, we usurp God's role as judge.

Again, I'm not going to defend Robertson and wish he would keep his mouth shut sometimes. But the same could be said of me. I'm going to try to keep it in mind come next election.

Everyone is having a field day with this. This guy just doesn't seem to ever stop and ask himself, "Gee, is there something wrong with what I'm about to say?"
