Is it possible to be so committed to falling in love with Jesus that you forget about the mission he sent us on?
and…
Is it possible to be so committed to the mission that you forget to fall in love with Jesus himself?
These two things (loving Jesus, loving people) are not opposites. They work together. So many times in my life i have forgotten one of them.
I’m the pastor of The Well in Feasterville, PA about 30 minutes Northeast of Philadelphia; Designer, Programmer, Owner of 343design; Website specialist for MyOhai; Board Member for Lemonade International; Member of the Ecclesia Network; Father of four boys and husband.
Over the years this blog has focused on the the calling of the church in suburban America. This has naturally transitioned into thoughts and questions around the nature of leadership and community life in this unique context.

I think yes to both questions. I personally experience the latter quite often. Whenever I get worn out from service, it’s always because I’ve taken my eyes off the Lord and forgotten him. In the same light, I can get so immersed in what he means to me personally, that I can forget others. The former is more common for me, however.
