Bonhoffer on Confession
“In confession the break-through to community takes place. Sin demands to have a man by himself. It withdraws him from the community. The more isolated a person is, the more destructive will be the power of sin over him, and the more deeply he becomes involved in it, the more disastrous is his isolation. Sin wants to remain unknown…”
Dietrich Bonhoffer in Life Together (p.112)

yeah man, pretty convicting eh? this is some real good tangible stuff as it comes to thinking about confession and the power of sin. even when we are plagued with doubts (that aren’t necessarily sin) i have found that the power of some of them is removed when they are confessed.
