Christmas Vaca…

2

We’ll be heading down to Myrtle Beach for the next week or so with Melanie’s family. I have had a few people ask me what its going to be like “having” to spend a week with “the in-laws.” I am happy to be able to say that I really do enjoy Melanie’s family (if I didn’t, I don’t think i would be blogging about it!) and it looks to be a relaxing weekend. I do know that I am looking forward to being able to say that I am going to play a few rounds of golf this Christmas holiday. I have never been able to say that before!

It seems each year i have been alive i have sensed more and more the significance of Christmas. In my family we always read the christmas story out of one of the gospels before we open gifts. as a kid, this was sheer torture. but, looking back i have noticed that each year, it was less and less torture. i think that each christmas i have gone through, i have understood the importance and special nature of the meaning of Christmas. maybe it’s that each year of my life as i grow and move forward on my journey of calling myself a christian, or christ-follower, and that growth allows me to appreciate the birth of the Christ and what this meant for mankind.

maybe by the time I’m 70 i will have gotten it completely…
