I’m Giving Up Fast Food for Lent
I feel like I have to make it public or the chances of me doing it are less. I am doing this because i am too lazy to make myself a lunch in the morning so this will give me some discipline as well as save a ton of money and make me a healthier person.
We’ll see how it goes…

That’s a great thing to give up for lent, and given how much of that junk I’ve been ingesting lately, I think I may just join you.

Good for you bro, I am giving up ALL meat (including chicken) for Lent. We’ll see how that goes. For over a month, I’ll be living the vegetarian lifestyle.

..or fish sandwiches from McDonalds. Kind of defeats the purpose.

My wife is doing the same thing. Her last trip to a place with a drive-through was last Tuesday. She will have a little trouble on the road, but has done this in the past. It helps quite a bit both for the amount we spend eating out and to plan our meals a little better. Also a really good reminder when we are tempted to run through a place with a drive-through.

Todd, stock the pantry with easy things to make that are reasonably healthy. Try stuff like Annie’s mac and cheese, some of those Thai soups that need only water, etc.
Also making big dinners can help with providing leftovers. Unless I plan ahead I quickly fall into the fast food trap. If you can stock up on food that’s even faster than fast food, you’re in business.

Weird that you’re doing anything for lent (we’re not catholic are we?!?), but self discipline is always a good thing. I didn’t quite give up on eating uphealthy, just WAY more balanced with my “book of daniel” diet and not eating unhealthy the majority of my meals. Water and veggies drives me nuts sometimes and I go to the king of burgers at least once a week (or the hut of pizza), but all in all, I’ve lost 15 pound since last month and I feel so much healthier, but being healthy feels normal as opposed to actually feeling great! but the fact that I feel normal is good thing compared to how I used to feel. Plus using the discipline to give up the bad food I was able to quit smoking and porno at the same time. I messed up a few times but all in all, quitting multiple things at once isn’t any harder and I think I feel so much better about myself that I’m finally scuplting my life to be honorable to God (or at least how I always felt I should for his honor)
