Individual Salvation and Restoration of all Things

4

Quote of the day from The Supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern World in the chapter by Tim Keller,

“In General I don’t think we’ve done a good job at developing ways of communicating the gospel that include both salvation from wrath by propitiation and restoration of all things.”

Yeah, I can get behind that! I tried to emphesize this concept in my sermon at the funeral last week.

Ha. “You horrible Christian! You are a failure.” I am betting that does not work out very well. It is unfortunate that we present a Gospel that way. I am glad we got to talk about it for a little tonight. Thanks man.

Todd, is the book worth purchasing?

Ok, I read your sermon notes. Wow, great stuff. However, I am still thinking about how the experience of death is not normal.

I guess, you are right from a scriptural perspective, however from the perspective of God’s sovereignty in all things. God allowed the human experience to mimic the essence of love. The giving and taking of life, in the way he gave us himself unto death, even death on a cross.

    Just a thought…

Don’t worry, i have posts to put up on the site you made, I just forgot how to get on the site to post them.

I need to write it down.

One thing is true, I take what I am writing more seriously now that you built me the site.

    Thanks again.

My first entry is about you and my man love!

Tom, honestly i am not sure. I got the book because i don’t tend to fall in the reformed missional camp too much but i wanted to see what they had to say. i am reading mostly out of curiosity and am expecting some good stuff (like this chapter from Tim Keller)
