I love it. I am glad you are willing to be humble, prioritize your family, and set a good example for all of us. Plus, I always enjoy when my friends make killer lattes. You will brighten peoples’ days.

This post has stuck in my mind long after reading it, esp as I’m facing similar circumstances soon.

After I’m done with school, I’ve got loans to pay off and two little mouths to feed – so w/o apology $ is a concern.

And bi-vocational seems most realistic for me, supplementing pastoral work w/ chaplaining or maybe working in academic setting somehow. But how realistic is that? I dunno. I’m afraid of ending up @ UPS too. And another concern is if the “other” job ends up eclipsing the so-called “church” job – in energy, mind, and time (although I understand this thing about “vocation”)

Would love to hear your continued thoughts on this lifestyle.
