Post Info // super fun stuff.
It’s stuff like this that makes me want to scream.
From this article, unworthy of my linking to it, but this kind of stuff makes me so angry. I suppose this moron would say that my uncle got lost in the woods because of some deep sin. What a bunch of bull crap. (i would be tempted to say worse, but my mom reads this blog).
Don’t grieve for Kyle Lake, my friends; grieve for all of those who never heard the words “sinner,” “shed blood,” “repent,” “resurrection” or the Gospel of Jesus Christ preached!
And please don’t write me to say what a kind, wonderful, generous, loving and funny person Rev. Lake was because that’s not a sufficient replacement for proclaiming the whole counsel of God; and I’m quite sure Ananias, Sapphira, Hymenaeus, Alexander and Philetus were all dearly loved and treasured by their friends, family and followers as well….
The folks at University Baptist Church and The Associated Baptist Press might consider Rev. Lake’s death an accident; but I assure you, as Romans 8:28 clearly teaches, there is no such thing between the Alpha and the Omega.
It happened; and it happened for a reason.
He didn’t die a martyr’s death, like Stephen, courageously proclaiming God’s Word to angry men bearing stones. He wasn’t beaten, crucified or burned at the stake for his unwillingness to renounce his faith in God. Lake was killed trying to baptize someone in front of an adoring audience; and the Lord stopped him dead in his tracks.

This is disturbing. I’m feel sorry for this guy’s audience. Let’s spam the hell out of this guy!

It’s cowardly to write something that hateful and not have a place for comments. If you are going to write like an insensitve jerk and paste a smug picture of yourself at the top, there appears to be a need for some accountability. At least the emerging church puts ideas out there with room for comments and discussion. We don’t level unfounded, insensitive criticism and declare the case closed.
I pray for the wisdom and love of God hit this guy like a freight train.

Wow…I can’t even believe that there people out there like that. To be honest, it makes me ever so slightly more doubtful about the gospel. Do you want a how could God do that question? How could God allow this guy to go around saying things like that? It’s very hard not to respond in anger, but I guess that doesn’t really accomplish anything.
Sorry, just ranting…

disturbing. cowardly. Yes, both of those. Part of me thinks people write this stuff so they can get more people to read their websites. The other part of me thinks they are pious jerks.
Spamming is probabaly not the best response…but it would be fun. I think Ed’s prayer is the best…

It’s appropriate that I read a post today on the difference between anger and justice. Anger attempts to dehumanize, hurt, and destroy - justice seeks to rebuild and redeem.
So, to be quite honest my first impulse is to seek out and destroy this person - but God’s timing is good because the Spirit’s going, “Ummm, do you actually believe what you say you believe?”
So, I hope this person is blessed with tears of repentance and years of a contrite heart, because this is so awful for the Gospel it’s sick.
Reading the whole article - the way this man abuses scripture to fuel his hatred and fear, makes me ashamed to be a Christian.

I’ve got an idea! Let’s spam in a loving and caring way..
No, scratch that idea. I don’t think there is anything loving or caring about spamming. Sorry for the humor. I just hope that people won’t take this guy seriously. Somehow that gives him less power.
