It is a real eye-opener about not only the church during WW2, but about the resistance of many Germans. As a historian and Believer, it helps me to understand the context of post WW1 Germany and the conflicts, both emotionally and spiritually going on inside her citizens. While I cannot stress enough that I don't condone what happened during WW2, I am able to get a clearer idea of what happened. Just started "Ethics" by Bonhoeffer..very practical and insightful. Just finished Eric Metaxas book on Bonhoeffer. It is a real eye-opener about not only the church during WW2, but about the resistance of many Germans.
As a historian and Believer, it helps me to understand the context of post WW1 Germany and the conflicts, both emotionally and spiritually going on inside her citizens. While I cannot stress enough that I don’t condone what happened during WW2, I am able to get a clearer idea of what happened.
