Meet Carlos, our new son…

Allow me the pleasure of introducing to you our new soon to be adopted son! We just got our referral, which is kind of like the ultimate ultrasound because we get pictures instead of a blurry, grainy black and white image.

Carlos Armando Escobar Soto (Yes, Cole is disturbed because his name is not “Mason,” we’ll work that out later!)

Born October 30, 2006 at 6:30pm in Colonia de la Independencia, Guatemala

We’re not sure when we will get to bring him home from Guatemala so there will be more details to follow (update: apparently it will be about 5-6 months)…for now, just take a good look at our beautiful child.

UPDATE: So, we just found out that we need to send $10,000 to Guatemala City first thing tomorrow morning (yes, adoption is expensive and this is not our last payment). We do have about $7K of it ready to go and will probably get a cash advance in the morning for the rest. But, if you are able and would like to help with this feel free to: 1) mail a gift - contact us for our address or 2) Donate via paypal.

Carlos

this boy is my grandson….grandson #4! i think waiting for him to “come home” is going to be a lot harder than waiting after we see an ultra-sound! he has enough hair to cover his daddy’s bald head! todd’s mom!)

Too cute! Can’t come too soon! He has a great future growing up in your home. Wish he could be here in time for Christmas Mountain! Otherwise he will be past babyhood when I ever see him again. Pennsylvania and Montana are just too far apart.

Congratulations to you and Melanie. I suppose the 5-6 month wait will give you some time to save up for a iMac mini or whatever you need to begin training a child in the way he should go.

    Blessings!

Congratulations Todd! We have a family in our church who adopted a five year old girl from Guatemala about five years ago. She is HIV positive. She has been a joy to her family and to our church. A couple of years ago their oldest daughter adopted a little boy from Guatemala.

I am so thrilled about Carlos (Mason). God’s timing is perfect and His ways are above ours. Nate and I are planning a trip to PA this coming summer. So hopefully Lydia and Carlos can meet then.

I do remember something about a lost hunter… but did not know him… I didn’t remember that he died.

I am sorry to here he was your uncle. It is a small world though isn’t it.

Do you have any new updates on your adoption? My wife and i have talked about adopting, but as you have pionted out it take money… and lots of it…

Funny how much money is needed just so that a child can be loved… makes one wonder what some deem as more important…

    blessings,
    iggy

Hi Todd! Wow, how exciting, a new son! Your mom has to be just reeling! It sounds like things are going well for you and your family. I was trying to find your mom online and found you. Would love to get in touch with your mom, can you ask her to e-mail me? Thanks
