Poll: New Specs - What Do You Think?

So, since I am going to Zambia I needed to get a new pair of glasses that weren’t held together buy duct tape.  I wear contacts most of the time but really needed a backup just in case anything happens while I am there.  So, I heard of 39dollarglasses.com and went ahead and picked out a frame.  The catch with these cheap glasses is that you can’t really try on the frames before you order. So, its kind of a shot in the dark on some level.  Of course, I went for a little bit of a more radical look for me so I really am interested in your thoughts on my new frames.

My wife, Melanie, is in the “they might grow on me” category and I’m there still too.  With that said, here they are (if you want to enlarge them for some strange reason, you can click on them):

As I said before they make you look very “Rob-Bell-ish.” I don’t know if that’s a bad thing though. I should check out that website though.

I second the “Rob Bell” statement, but you also kinda look like Tony Jones…

You kind of remind me of a young James Cromwell. That’s not a bad thing, it is what it is. :)

    They’re alright.

They’re way better than my black specs. Also they make you look younger, which is odd since you’re already a young punk whippersnapper.

I voted for the dork option, but now that I think about it, I probably would have voted that way even if you weren’t wearing the glasses… sorry, I apparently missed the instructions. :-) In all seriousness, I think they’ll grow on me. Of course I may not see you enough in real life for that, so I guess I know what I’ll be using for my new desktop wallpaper!

    My first thought: ROB BELL
My second thought: Though he reminds me of someone else, who could it be… TONY JONES.

Ha! I quickly learned I’m not alone. You’re just emerging the socks off of us with those glasses. You need to record a video of yourself saying words like “Post-colonial,” “liminality,” “journey.”

    Safe travels.

So I was definitely going to go for the “Rob Bell” look-a-like angle but someone stole it. I need to step up on these responses. Darn…

have to agree with the Rob Bell comments….that was my first impression when I saw the pic. Might have to start calling you “Nooma man” (which is what my kids call Rob Bell from watching his videos)…not to be confused with Numa Numa Man of You Tube fame.
