I think we’re not too far off from the day when churches will not be able to deny the leadership offices of elder and deacon to homosexuals. In Canada, it is now a hate crime to speak out against homosexuality. Puts pastors in a tight spot when preaching through Romans…
That day will never come, unless Christians let it. You may be right that we are not far off from the day when we must allow WHOEVER into our leadership IN ORDER TO KEEP A LEGAL STATUS, however, I don’t think a legal status of any sort is reason to compromise truth.
The church and faith have always thrived in a society that persecutes it. I’ve been wondering lately if the American church isn’t due for a little persecution. However, I still pray, as Paul did, that we would be able to live quiet and peaceful lives.
