Hey, How Do You Use Your Screen Space?
As a designer, I am working on my computer pretty much all day long. After a while, all the little movements it takes to change windows can get annoying so I usually try and set up my screen space in a way that let’s me switch as few windows as possible.
The above screen shots are images of my primary and secondary display when I am coding css/xhtml. If you click on the thumbnails it will take you to my Flickr page where you can notes on the page.
So, the main reason I did this was because I am actually more curious about how other designers use their displays. I am guessing some people take a free-for-all approach while others are more anal about how they work. I am personally some where in the middle.
So what about you? I am gonna “tag” a few of my designer friends and hope that they respond and do the same…

I also find it interesting that you use the smaller screen for your primary screen.

Sorry, no screenshots tonight.
In general:
Primary is the 17″ laptop monitor, 1440 wide. Running Firefox with several tabs, including Gmail, Twitter, Basecamp, lessaccounting, and the Textpattern admin backend for the current site. Also sometimes Photoshop and Notepad++.
Secondary is a flat screen, 1280 wide. Running a single tab of Firefox showing the current site, with Firebug and Web Dev toolbar for real-time editing of html/css and live preview. Also iTunes. Sometimes IE, for testing (ugh).
Interesting thing is, at the office the laptop screen is secondary, running Outlook only. {Must be the desk.)
