    Summary:

Today I spoke at Biblical Seminary for the installation of John R. Franke as the Lester and Kay Clemens Professor of Missional Theology.  Gary and I will be discussing the challenges and opportunities the church faces in the Suburbs.

In my talk I promised that I would post some resources for further reading here on my blog. So, here it is.

This is a link to the paper that I wrote that started this whole thing for me.

    Books:

    • Al Hsu has put together a fantastic reading list here.
    • Tom Sine’s new book “The New Conspirators” is a great companion to this conversation.

    Some posts from my blog:

    • Are You Rioting with the Suburban Mob?
    • Four Movements of the Suburban Missional Church
    • Personal Financial Accountability In the Church, A Way Forward
    • A Holy (Suburban) Discontent
Some posts from other people’s blogs:
    • Gary Alloway’s post: Finding God in Feasterville
    • David Fitch’s post: The Idol Hath Fallen – the Financial Crisis and the Reshaping of the Landscape for Mission
    Some blogs worth checking out:
    • Al Hsu
    • David Fitch
    • Gary Alloway
    • Joe Thorn
    • Steve McCoy
    • The Sub-Text – look especially at the resource page here.

Howdy Dudey

I am a pastor at The Well in Feasterville, PA (a suburb Northeast of Philadelphia) and I work as a freelance web designer also. This blog has become a place for me to share my thougths, reading notes and general reflections on life as a bi-occupational pastor/web designer who lives in suburbs of Philly with his wife and (soon-to-be) three awesome boys.
