the “joy” of support raising…

May 17, 2004

my wife and i have been doing this support raising thing for about 9 months now. because we work at in a church plant type situation, in a community where the average age is about 20-35, it is necessary for us to raise support as missionaries to be able to serve where we are.

its been a nice, long, hard and testing road and it looks like we are nearing the end of the first leg of our missionary lives…that is, we almost have met our initial monthly support goal. as of now, we only have about $200.00/month more to raise.

if you are the praying type, please pray that this support would come in soon. our church is about to enter some exciting times (we are finally sesiously looking at a building me may lease full-time if the Lord wills) and we want to be able to put all our “ministry time” into church related things…

hey my brother…i’ll be stopping by to visit you guys soon. we will be praying for you…i know how hard this support raising stuff is. God knows your needs. it may just be more than money…through all this he may be bringing a whole community to support you intensely in fellowship and accountability. your character is being shaped. his work will still be done. thanks for that big plug by the way…it’s nice to blog fulltime. which i don’t do of course.
