• Web Design

Besides pastoring, I make a part-time living as an independent Web/Print Designer. If you have any needs for new designs, re-designs, updates, etc. I’d be more than happy to design and set up a blog for you for a small little fee too. I also can provide full hosting and e-commerce. If you have these needs and would like work done in an effecient and personal manner, I would love to help and am definately for hire.

My philosophy in design is “less is more.” You’ll notice that the designs listed below (except for the ones that i simply maintain) were built to be more elegant than complicated and as usable as possible. As a result, hopefully my designs look a lot more like the front page of google than the front page of yahoo.

Just send me an e-mail here and let me know your needs.

    Some of my work includes:

    • www.thewellpa.com - The goal for our site here was to develop a simple and usable site for people who are looking into what The Well is all about. We decided that since we were a more simple and transparent expression of church, we wanted to have a simple, attractive, informative, usable and authentic design.
    • The Well concerts website - The reason I developed this section of our site is because we have been doing some advertising in the community for our concert venue and we needed some place for people to land after seeing our advertising. We wanted something simple that gave them a picture of our venue, our space and the things that we do there.
    • TAI Incorportated. While I didn’t develop this website I am contracting for this company doing all their site updates. When I started, I spend some considerable time reworking a lot of the code, the CSS and the scripting. While the design is pretty good, someday we may do a compete redesign.
    • This Site (toddhiestand.com). The look for my blog usually comes from me taking an existing template in WordPress and hacking it up to look and feel like i want. I have yet to “make my own” but someday I’ll probably do that.
    • Philly Emergent. Like my personal blog, the look for this site comes from me taking an existing theme in WordPress and hacking it up. There is still more work to do on it, but its coming along.
    • Mere Mission. This content of this website is still a work in progress for me. Though I am pretty happy with the design. It is built off of WordPress also.
