Post Info // super fun stuff.
You’ve Heard it said…
Going off of this post… I will start posting these kinds of things when they come to mind…Here’s the first.
You’re heard it said that you look cool and feel important by walking through the airport on a business trip in a suit with your collar unbuttoned while talking on your PDA/Phone…
…But I tell you its better to humbly sit with an elderly man in his nursing home room and read him the newspaper and play checkers…

regarding walkingthrough the airport looking cool…..i like your reponse…here is another one:
but i tell you it is better to hold hands with a two year old son, interacting with him in his world, nurturing a relationship that will pay off in the years to come.
You and Melanie do that quite well…I love how you are nurturing our grandson. after i took you to the airport, i heard Tony Evans talking about how we have a generation of children being nurtured by everyone but their parents! How true…how sad!

You’ve heard it said that you shouldn’t feed a homeless/begger persons addictions with your money…give them food instead.
Jesus says what they really need is someone to SIT and eat WITH them and to LISTEN to their story.
This one strikes me everyday. I see people all around me walk by beggers, and I am one of them. Every time i see one of these people part of me argues what i’ve heard… the other part… the part that is not me… the spirit fillied part crys out in compassion and longs to talk them. One day i was set on inviting this one man to lunch with me..when i got to the corner he ussualy populates..he wasn’t there. Seeing these people makes me praise God more and more for the simple things like a warm bed and shelter and food, even if it is leftover meatloaf…
