Easter Weekend at The Well is fast becoming one of my favorite weekends of the year. Not only do we get to remember and celebrate Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection but we get to do it together. I have come to believe that our service tonight (Good Friday) is our most worshipful and best worship gathering of the year. Mostly, that’s because I don’t do much for it. It’s totally lay-led (for lack of better term) and is usually very reflective and meditative. This year those who are sharing will be focusing on four different perspectives of the resurrection. If you are in the area and are looking for a place to worship this weekend, feel free to join us.
Here’s what we’ve got going on…
Good Friday Worship Service 7 pm
“Perspectives on the Cross” – An interactive night of worship as we reflect upon the different characters of the crucifixion narrative. Singing, alternative worship, and reflections from Alex, Tim, Henry, and Ginger.
Easter Vigil
The church will be open from Friday night until Sunday morning for prayer, fasting, and community reflection upon the time Christ spent in the grave. Some of us are fasting for the whole weekend. Feel free to join for the whole time or only in part. Come alone, come in groups. Paint, write, reflect, pray, worship.
Holy Saturday Prayer Service – 7 pm
A meditative prayer service led by Otto Von Wachter. Traditional readings; reflective music; communal prayer; a time to be still before God.
Easter Breakfast – 9 am
Hungry fasters and Easter celebrants rejoice! This will be pot luck, so bring some food to share. If you have a waffle iron or griddle please bring it so we can further the feast!
Easter Worship Service – 10:30 am
Sing Gary’s favorite Easter hymn, watch our talented children perform a skit, hear Todd’s reflections on the resurrection, worship our risen Lord.
