I’m trying to pick up the book i have listed on the right of my blog called “The Source of Life” by Jurgon Moltmann again. I mean, since i have it listed there, i guess it would be kinda good if i had enagaged it a little bit! (Yes, i am one of those guys who has books that he has not read in forever listed on the side bar of my blog – though, i have just about finished Missional Church and it has been a great, challanging and stimulating read and would highly recommend it). Anyways, here is an amazing quote from this book by Moltmann…
“The response to the plea for the Holy Spirit is the SPirit’s coming and remianing, its outpouring and its indwelling. People who ask for the Holy Spirit to come to us – into our hearts, into the community we live in, and to our earth – don’t want to flee into heaven or be snatched away into the next world. They have hope for their hearts, their community and this earth. We don’t pray “let us come int oyour kingdom” either. We pray ‘your kingdom come on earth as in heaven.’ The petition for the coming of the divine spirit to us frail earthly people implies a great, unbroken affirmation of life.”
That is good stuff. We evangelicals don’t spend enough time with the Holy Spirit…Why are we so scared to talk about this person of the Trinity!?
