I am preaching this week on Psalm 139, spent most of my day trying to take a passage that deserves a life’s worth of study and boil it down to two 20 minute messages…this is tough for me…i tend to be a little long winded and wordy! Just image if i didn’t talk a mile a minute!
In my reseach i found this quote by Nelson Mandela…
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we powerful beyond all measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.We ask ourselves: “Who am I to be brilliant, talented and fabulous?”
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you.
We were born to manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us, it is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our deepest Fear, our presence automatically liberates others. This, then is our one purpose in life,
To discover who we truly are and to be all that we can be.from Nelson Mandela’s Inaugural speech, written by Marianne Williamson
